Boys and Baby Dolls!

Stephanie • Mom of two handsome boys Ryker 3-5-14 and Maddox 9-4-15
You would not belief the grief I got on social media, posting this picture on my Facebook! My son will only be 18 months when his baby brother arrives. He's not old enough to talk and understand everything we tell him about "baby brother" so we decided to help him prepare by purchasing him a baby doll. That way we can teach him to be gentle, and demonstrate good care to him. Of course they only had them in pink and purple, and my son chose purple. Two people before leaving the store scoffed at us when they saw my son holding the baby doll, the cashier asked us, "he's a boy right?" And a couple "friends" on Facebook told me I should be ashamed for buying my son a purple doll. Well guess what!? I'm not ashamed in the least! My son loves the doll already. He has been gentle, hugging and kissing the doll, pointing and saying "baby" and I love it! I just don't understand when dolls became "girl toys" and when it was decided that boys shouldn't play with them. 😔
