considering a VBAC?!!

What are y'alls opinion on a vbac? And who here has attempt one and had a successful one and what to prepare for and what to expect??

I don't have any advice but I am planning on attempting a VBAC as well. My Dr supports that 100% but she said I will have to meet with a specialist to go over anything that could possibly go wrong, that I will not be able to be induced, and that it may end in a c section anyway. My experience with having a c section the first time around does not make me want to have another.

I’ve only had vaginal births but you asked for opinions so here is mine.
If I was in your shoes, I’d only attempt a VBAC if I had an OB (+ Hospital) that was 100% on board.
It can be successful but it can also lead to an emergency CS. I feel I’d rather have a planned CS than an emergency one.
The healing from vaginal birth is easier than a c section but many women I know who had more than one c section say that the healing from a planned one was way easier than when they had to rush them into surgery after hours of labor.

I had a successful VBAC. Be prepared to look out for the signs of labor when it gets to that time. It takes you by surprise and is a completely different experience. Also do not take pitocin when you get to the hospital. It can increase the chances of your scar tearing open while in labor.

I was approved for a vbac so I'm going to attempt a vbac. having another c section is not what I want at all unless it comes down to it

I'll continue to follow this and update as I continue to discuss with my dr. My first pregnancy we discovered breech at around 34 weeks. I did everything to get her to turn and flip. We even had the scheduled ECV. She wouldn't turn. My dr maintains that I'm a great candidate for vbac if this pregnancy goes like my first. My csec recovery was horrible. I don't want to be cut open again. I do awful with pain meds. It took me a good 3 months to button pants or have any pressure at all because of the painful scar. I'm concerned by what a doula told me about how drs will try to talk you out of a vbac. You have to go in fully educated on exactly what you want to do, knowing all the risks, and firm in your decision and ask to be backed up 110% by your dr. If they aren't totally on board, I was advised to find a diff dr.  Success stories appreciated, as I'm going to get lip from family for choosing a vbac.

I will happily go with c section round two.   The first time it was an emergency at 38 wks.  I don't want to go with a long labor adventure just to get cut open again.
