Safe co-sleeping?

I've always been guilty of being the perfect parent that wasn't a parent...
I said I'd never co-sleep because it's dangerous and blah blah blah...
Well, now my sweet squishy girl will not sleep anywhere other than my arms. I'm loving it, except for when I need sleep too. She's an excellent sleeper and is hardly ever fussy, but it's just a bit of a struggle at night. She's 4 days old today. 
Any tips on safe co-sleeping so I feel better about it?? Right now I'm sleeping upright with a boppy pillow and rolled blankets under the pillow to ensure that she doesn't move from my arms.

I bedshare!! Here’s the top 7 things you HAVE to do in order to safely bedshare. Keep in mind if you don’t follow ALL 7, every night, you’re putting baby at risk. 
1- mom and dad both need to be awake and aware before putting baby in bed. No one else (no pets or other kids) should be in the bed. 
2- baby sleeps on mom’s side, NOT in the middle.
3- mom and dad should not smoke, drink, or take any medications that can cause them to be drowsy or out of it. 
4- no blankets or pillows near the baby. No swaddling!
5- no gaps or spaces between the bed and the wall or headboard. 
6- baby should be placed on its back in its sleeping space.
7- you should be breastfeeding.

Make sure there are not a lot of pillows and blankets on the bed. I use one blanket and keep it below waste or wrapped around me so no way it can cover the baby. Keep the baby on your side not  in the middle. A bed rail may be nice for some piece of mind even though baby isn’t rolling yet. Make sure no gaps between bed and head board. They sell co sleepers as well like dock a tot I have never used one but they look very nice. I know they are pricey but a movement monitor or an owlet may also give you piece of mind. My daughter refused to sleep anywhere but next to be or a rock n play the first four months and it made me incredibly nervous but after  six months I felt much better when she was rolling and moving around.

Lady, I am right there with you. I also have a 4-day-old who will NOT sleep anywhere except for in my arms. I've tried the crib, the swing, the dock-a-tot co-sleeper... he immediately figures out that he's been put down and wakes up screaming. So I'm just laying him across my chest, propping myself up, and keeping blankets away from his face. I talked to my pediatrician today. She described the first couple of weeks as "survival mode" and validated that we have to do what we have to do. This too shall pass!

my daughter slept in our arms in bed with us on our chests for the first 6 weeks. she would sleep in nowhere else. keep covers to a minimum, but you don't need to be propped up like that. if she does fall out, she is more likely to suffocate with all those pillows. https://www.askdrsears.com/topics/health-concerns/sleep-problems/sleep-safety/cosleeping-safely

i regularly bed share
i did so with all 6 babies
they are all fine
they start their night in their crib and then between 2 and 4 they come into my bed for sleep nursing

Do not bed share, if it was safe then midwifes and others would not talk so highly about co sleeping in separate beds. Halo bassinet gets close to you, you might have to get her use to it... some people use dock a tot ... I would say talk to your doctor before bed sharing if you consider it. I’ve heard of too many stories where things go wrong.

I want to get an arms reach co sleeper for when my little guy makes his entrance I think it will be perfect because once they fall asleep you can lay them right next to you safely and if they want picked up again they are so close you wouldn't even have to do anything but move your arms. I love the 3 in 1 because then it turns into a PAC n play for when they start standing :)

I have heard great things about Dock a Tot. You put it in your bed and they can sleep right next to you! I also have always said no co sleeping but we have to do what's best for us and our babies!
