Bipolar...how did you know?

Bipolar disorder runs in my family. Last year I was tested for ADD and it came back that I had depression and anxiety. I took three different antidepressants and all of them have the same effect and made everything worse. I was antisocial, I cried all the time, and I was so angry that I was hurting everyone around me. The doctor told my mom that if I reacted a certain way to a few of those medications that I may be bipolar. I’m beginning to wonder if this is true. Have any of you been diagnosed with bipolar disorder? What symptoms or feelings did you have to make you think that you had bipolar?

Usually if a person takes antidepressants and they have bipolar they will become manic. I suggest googling bipolar symptoms and there are a few different  forms

I tried to fly knowing I couldn't , I went 4 days without sleeping, I am NOT shitting you, I did not sleep for 4 days straight. I WOULD NOT SHUT UP!! Because I never slept I caught up on EVERY SINGLE friends episode on nick at night.
When I did sleep my mood dropped, I was severely depressed. Couldn't get out of bed.
That episode was RIGHT after I hit puberty. I never had one so intense. I was originally diagnosed with mood disorder NOS way before this. So I had been taking a mood stabilizer at that time. I was also taking an antidepressant that my stupid doc put me on, and since I have ADHD I also take stimulates. I kept forgetting to take my medication, it took place in the summer. Days went by so quickly that I was completely unaware what day it would be. I'd forget my mood stabilizer a lot, continue to take my stimulants, took the antidepressants plus the hormones of just hitting puberty and BAM!!!! Super maniac lol 
I haven't had ANY mania like that again. It's more of just a serious manic depression? Am I using that term right? But anyways I take a mood stabilizer for my bipolar disorder. Some people take a antidepressant for it but it tends to cause mania with bipolar. So if you were to take it you likely would have to take it with some kind of anti mania drug like an antipsychotic.
Sorry if I'm trailing off too much, did I mention I have ADHD lol?!
 But anyways, definitely bring up any concerns you have with your doc. It's better to find a treatment that works no matter what your diagnosis is as long as you do well

I was diagnosed with bipolar type II when I was 12, now I am 28. I don’t have the mania side of bipolar but when I Get into a low point it gets dangerous for me, as someone said there is no helping, you are stuck inside yourself. I get extremely suicidal and withdrawn from people and life in general. I get very emotionally detached and I have severe insomnia as well and that just makes it worse because I stay up all night crying and fighting off an urge to self harm or just end it all (kind of like those with mania, they stay up all night and
Do creative things etc but instead I cry and claw at myself and not in typical depression manner) There’s always that voice in the back of my head that just wants to bring me down. When I seem happy I’m not happy, I am good at faking it for people around me. But I breakdown at the flip Of a switch. When I was younger I’d fly off the handle and get super angry and would lie around And just be very detached. My biological mother was schizophrenic and had bpd (I was adopted) so my therapist thinks it’s a trait from her.

I have manic bipolar depression it has been passed down from my birth mother to me.. It's horrible you have highs and lows. when you feeling good you stay that way for a bit. And when your low your so bad that there really is no helping.

I️ have another post floating around on here and in it I’ve said I️ feel like there is a constant cloud over top of me and sometimes it sprinkles and sometimes it pours and when it pours it does for days, sometimes a week. And when the “pouring” stops I️ still never feel totally happy. 
On my days off from school I️ sleep or lay around a lot. I️ get “tired” doing the slightest thing and I️ never finish what I️ start like dishes or laundry. I️ feel tired. All. The. Time. I️ want to do things, I️ want to go out and exercise but my brain says nope lay here under the covers, its better, you’re too tired. 
Sometimes at midnight usually, sometimes 1am I️ get an urge to do things. I️ want to clean or be up. My poor husband was trying to play a computer game and I was cleaning the desk around him and I️ just couldn’t leave it alone until I️ was satisfied. Its not an ocd type feeling, it’s just I️ have to do SOMETHING. It’s like I️ go on these marathons and my brain and my mouth won’t stop. It always happens when “normal people” would be going to bed.
