The after pill?

Hii there! 
I was just wondering when do you have to take the after pill? Can you still take it 48 hours after unprotected sex? And do you have high chances of pregnancy if your period is due in 10 days?   Thank you so much in advance!

It’s effectiveness if taken within 12 hours of having unprotected sex is 95%. 
12-24 hours it drops to 85%. 
24-48 hours it drops to 75%. 
48-72 hours it drops to 58%. 
So “technically” it’s never 100% & if u wait 3 days, you’ve still only got a 50% chance. And if u wait 5 days, ur success rate is only gonna be 20-30%.

The package says take within 72 hours. Technically you can take it within 5 days though. The sooner you take it, the better it will work. If you wait, and become pregnant, the pill will not harm an existing pregnancy.

I think you can only take 24h after sex.

You are meant to take it immediately. The longer you leave it, the less likely it will work. If you google the time/rate it I’ll tell you the % of it depending on how long it’s been. 48 hours is pushing it though. Ur meant to have it the “morning after” which is generally only a few hours. 
And if you’re 10 days until your period, I’m guessing you’ve ovulated? It doesn’t matter how close to ur period u are. It matters how close to ovulation you were.
