what do u think about this sleep training?

hi everyone our pediatrician give us today this sleep training. what do u think about it? have u tried this training? plz share ur experience and thoughs

My PERSONAL views are that for the first year or so, baby should sleep/eat on demand (barring any medical issues). 
BUT--- I have the ability to be a SAHM and not everyone has the option to let baby lead. Most importantly, I believe each family should do what is best for and what works for THEM.

I don’t advocate allowing a baby to cry until purple. It evades common sense. Sleep training over the age of 3 months can be beneficial for parents and baby. Of course crying may ensue. That’s how babies communicate. Leaving a baby to cry unattended is neglectful. I was taught by my pediatricians nurse to use minutes. And to NEVER allow it passed 5 minutes. This is only if baby is fed and dry. You lay baby down awake. You pick up and console after one minute if there is crying. Then 2, 3 and so on. Once you reach the 5 minute gap, you continue 5 minute increments. Teaching baby that you WILL respond to crying, and you haven’t “disappeared”. If the crying is distressed or “purple”. It’s advisable to pick your baby up anyway. It’s a tedious process, but it works. For some babies it doesn’t take much. For others it takes a couple of days. It usually fails bc it’s done incorrectly or the parent can not handle it or find the time. If sleep training doesn’t work for a parent or child then they should find another method that works for them. That being said, NEVER leave a crying baby unattended. It’s NOT ok.

I’m a sahm but I pretty much do this (didn’t know there was a name for it). I only let her cry for 5-10 min. It worked with my oldest so I’m doing it again. My baby will be 1 on the 16th...
