Different words?

So, recently on a trip I needed a cooler for drinks. I asked the man at the store and he looked at me like I was nuts. He asked what I was talking about... I said the Styrofoam thing you put drinks and ice in. he said, "OH! an icebox!" and found them right away for me. Anyone else have any stories like mine? Or, if you know you call something by a different name than someone else, share it! (Ex. In TN we call it a "stove eye" but in some part of Britain, they call it a "hob")
