At what age did you start putting your baby in a jumperoo?i

I just bought one for my baby and put him in it yesterday. He's 4 months old and can hold neck very strongly. However, he did not jump. He was just sitting there looking confused. I didn't see that coming as he loves to kick! What should I do? We did prop him with something underneath as he was too short for it. I'm starting to wonder if I should keep it for when he's 6 months. Is that when babies start using this kind of toys?
Update: I tried to put my baby in it again and by third attempt, he was jumping like crazy. I think it just took him some time to figure out what the thing was for. Now he loves his new toy! He's always smiling and giggling when he's in it :)

You don't want to put too much preassure on a babies legs too soon, as it can cause them to have bowed legs. I'd start introducing them to it around 6 months, and only have them in it for maybe 15-20 minutes at a time. That's what we did with our oldest, anyway, and her legs are straight. I'll be doing to same with this one :)

Our baby has been enjoying her jumper since she was 3 months, she's always had strong legs but a lot of the time she keeps her feet up off the ground and just plays with the toys. I've never heard of this causing any problems but I just follow her cues.

I started at 3 months. He had complete head control. I also had to put some support under him because he was too short. He doesn’t last long maybe 5-10 minutes but it took a couple times for him to figure out the jumping part! He loves to play with the toys too.
