How to count?

Hi! I was asked to count my babies kicks, but I'm not sure how. This is my first pregnancy/baby so I've never done it before.. If anyone has suggestions or tips that would be awesome! I'm high risk and I'm 28 weeks, the tech said something about 4 kicks in 1 hour, or 8 kicks in one hour? Idk! Anything helps!

Where I'm from, the general rule is 10 kicks within two hours. There are lots of apps! I have one called "count the kicks". You pick the baby's busiest time of day and relax and count their movements.

Today my doctor said 5 kicks in 30 minutes or 10 in an hour (in case you don't hit 5 in 30, don't panic but give it 30 more minutes and see if you get to 10). He said nudges, hiccups, any movement counts. He also said to lay on your left side and drink something cold if you are having trouble. Good luck, momma!

I use an app called OviaPregnancy - it's been so amazing for tracking ALL kinds of data!! They have a great kick counter and everything is super easy to use.
I don't know if it changes for high risk but typically they recommend catching any 10 moves in an hour at the baby's most active time of day.
