Ovulation test as pregnancy test?

I read (on a few different websites, even babycenter) that you can use an ovulation test as a pregnancy test in a pinch and if it’s positive and your fertile window is over that you’re pregnant. I took an ovulation test today to see I’m 9 DPO and the test was positive but I went and bought pregnancy test and it was negative, is 9 DPO too early to see on a pregnancy test?

Nope. Opks can't even confirm ovulation. LH is always present and it's common to have a surge before your period. FYI I'm pregnant and got negative opks. Only a pregnancy test can give you an accurate answer.

Yes. LH and Hcg have the same protein parts. An opk is not able to tell the difference so it turns positive if you have enough Hcg in your system. You also have a second estrogen surge in your luteal phase which could also cause a positive opk. 9dpo is a little early, test again in a couple days. This is my opk at 18dpo pregnant.

9DPO might be too early. But I’ve read that women can get an LH surge right before their period too. I’d test again in about three days! Best of luck!

When I was pregnant I got a positive pregnancy test but negative opk

So I took a second pregnancy test it was negative ☹️ and I started my period on the 17th

I had a vfl on a frer test and positive ovulation. The faint line on the HPT hasn’t satisfied me.. so I did the ovulation I’m 4 days to AF
