Ladies, what are some signs of emotional abuse? And not just our obvious signs, but subtle signs that we may even be used to?

I think when you have to question whether you're being emotionally abused or not is a good sign that you probably are

When you actually start believing the horrible things they are saying are actually true. For example: "your lazy and can't do anything on your own." Or "you're stupid and need to shut up." When you start believing things like this, you're being emotionally abused.

Speaking from personal experience, I would say that if you find yourself apologizing for everyday things or doubting yourself then those are minor signs of emotional abuse. Having trust issues is one of the obvious ones, but it's something that can be really hard to overcome. Something that really helped me with being too critical of myself and apologizing for simple mistakes is that when I wanted to apologize for something I would instead thank the person I was apologizing to, so instead of saying "sorry for being late" I would say "thanks for being so patient". It really helped change the way I viewed these situations. Hope this helps.
