Curious to hear if you have been in a successful long term open relationship and what the rules are within the relationship.

I have been in an open relationship, and will be three years in January. It is the healthiest relationship I've had. 
We are allowed to have both romantic and sexual feelings for other people, especially since both of us are demisexual and need to have a deep connection. We tell each other when we go on dates with other people and let each other know if we sleep with said date. Condoms are used when we have sex with other people. We are also open to having a polyamorous triad relationship if we happen to find a woman who we are both attracted to, and she is attracted to us, but we are not actively pursuing it.

I personally dont get the point in open relationships. Only because its always someone who catches feelings.

I think it depends on the relationship. Personally I don’t think I could do it because I’ll always be wondering how interested he is in other women

For me one person is enough. I don't have the time or energy to keep multiple people happy. Plus I like having that single deep love and connection with someone. 
I think it all depends on the type of person you are tho. For some people it works perfectly but for others it can just cause hurt.

I remember my now boyfriend wanted one but I did not so we stop the talking and the going outs. He found someone and after a year and a half I decided to give him a chance. He was always reaching to me and talking about what could it be if we would try something but I was always ignoring him and unsure. I was always wondering what would it be if we were a couple I did talk shit  abehind his back with one of his male friends and some of my friends but I don't know I said sorry and deep down I kind of felt something for him I guess I was just mad that we never tried something when we started to see each other. I was just recently out of an abusive relationship and wasn't sure I could do it with a "open" one.

I’ve had some good relationships and some bad, I think it’s up to the people in the relationship. Trust and communication is key.
My idea of an open relationship is a little skewed but when in a relationship there’s clear rules that must be followed
