Help!! Does a wine label have to be removed??

I’m thinking of gifting wine this year to my in-laws for the holiday. I ordered personalized labels for the bottles. Do have to remove the original label or Can I just add it to the other side? Never done this before and I don’t want to look stupid. Please help me!!

if it will cpver the entire original label then ypu can just slap it on over top. but it will look tacky if the original label is shpwing behind it so if it dpesnt cover it completely, I'd rempve the original and put your new label on.

I would it will make it look a lot better! Soak the bottle in hot soapy water for like 30 min
