Contraceptive that doesn’t affect anti depressants

Elle🌈

Hello everyone! I’m a 20 year old uni student from England. I have been in psychiatric hospitals all my life and let me tell you, they are the worst. I have been out for two years now but am still on 200mg Sertraline (200 is the max dose for a fully grown male, sertraline is an anti depressant and I’ve been on it since I was 12).

I have Borderline personality disorder and severe depression.

I just came out of a 3 year relationship where we only used condoms. About a year into the relationship I tried three different contraceptive pills per doctors orders and all affected my mental health to the point of attempting suicide and getting sectioned. After that I gave up trying to find something that worked and used the pull out method. I got pregnant twice but lost both babies and so used condoms. However, I’m allergic to them and got itchy down there after every time. My libido plummeted and after that the relationship ended

Now I have a new sexual partner and he uses the pull out method. However, I worry that I will get pregnant again and want to be safe. I know that he doesn’t have an STI but wondered if anyone knew of any contraction that won’t affect medication or my mental health. From what I’ve heard I need something that doesn’t have any hormones in it, but my doctor seems to not know of anything that fits the bill. Please help!!
