I feel so lost. I’m a senior in college and for the past year and a bit, my long-term boyfriend has been living here in my college town to be close to me. We live together and are each other’s best friends, but he also now lives across the state from all his other friends, we’re tight on finances, and he has a job he hates. He’s so depressed and lately it’s just gotten worse. He is mopey and snappy, never mean to me but certainly not polite. I always ask him if there’s anything I can do and he just says no. I just want him to be happy. Come June, we’ll be going back to our favorite place and then moving back to our hometown, but I don’t know what to do until then. Should I encourage him to quit his job and move out, somewhere he’ll be happier? As much as it would suck to be without him until June, I just feel so helpless and shitty seeing him so burnt out and sad. What should I do? We’ve been together almost six years and I love him so much. 😢
