OB changed my dates ??

Question

went to see my OB today for an ultrasound and check up. had my first US three weeks ago and the technician told me I was 6 weeks exactly, which lines up perfectly with my LMS and date of conception. based on that, I was under the impression that today marked 9 weeks and 4 days. when my OB started doing the US she asked me if I was certain about my LMS and told me I'm actually at 9 weeks. this makes no sense to me. can someone please explain what's going on?

You’re measuring behind a few days. That’s pretty normal. You will likely measure a few days off throughout your pregnancy.

My due date was March 8th. They changed it to March 12th at about 16 weeks based on how he was measuring at the ultrasound. He didn’t come til March 18th anyways. Due dates aren’t set in stone, it’s just a guess. Really anytime 2 weeks before or after is the window.

A couple days off is okay. It's not even going to matter much if it's only a couple days different because that baby will still come when it is ready/wants. A few weeks change early on could be more alarming but definitely not only a couple day change

its perfectly normal to change by about a week or so.   original fetal ages go off of LMP but dont take into account late or early ovulation.  and a difference of 4 days is really nothing.

I has my first ultrasound at 6 weeks 6 days. Baby was measuring 6 weeks 2 days. My ob wasn’t worried about it and said they were going to keep my due date the same since It wasn’t a difference of more than 7 days. I haven’t had my second ultrasound yet but I will be soon as I’m 19 weeks but I’ve heard and read that it’s normal to measure a little behind in the first ultrasound and then be caught up by the second.

May have ovulated late they changed mine too my due date was March 31st now it's April 5th
