What do contractions feel like? FTM and nervous 😥

Can anyone describe what contractions feel like? I’m a first time mom and feeling pretty nervous as I get closer and closer to my due date. I’m also the first out of my friend group to have a baby so I don’t have anyone to really ask.... feel kind of silly asking lol.

Menstral cramps! It starts off very mild then over so many hours gets worse. And your lower back will hurt just like when your on your period. It’s a very familiar pain it’s basically the same except they start and stop. Menstral cramps are constant. Contractions will start and it hurts and then hurts a little more and it will get to a peak and then the pain will start letting up and then you’ll have a break and the same thing will happen again a thousand times over lol but as time progresses it hurts worse.

They feel like very intense painful menstrual cramps that kind of wave through. They stopped me in my tracks till the wave passed. I was having some last night actually; they started kind of at the top of my belly and moved down. mine were about 10 minutes apart and lasted a good minute or so and then they went away once I was able to lay down.
