Early (and QUICK) Arrival
Miss Vivienne Jade could not wait until her November 24th due date. She arrived on 11/12/17 weighing 6lbs 8oz and 19.5” long.
I had cramping and early contractions at 4am. Some brought a wave of nausea but the pain was lower abdomen only so I assumed they were BH. I dealt with them until around 10am when I called the doctor to see if this was early labor or BH. I told Husband to get bags ready in case she comes within the next couple days.
I was still in complete denial that I was in labor and the midwife didn’t seem to think it was urgent either. After watching an episode of Friends I called back and told them I needed to come in. I couldn’t breathe through them and it was really painful. They were every 2-2.5mins and lasted around 30 seconds.
My husband heard me groaning through them and I told him I wanted to go. 30-40 min car ride was just one contraction after another. I thought, this must be real - this is too painful to be false labor.
I was admitted at 1:20pm and baby was out at 1:40pm. The admission person took her time and even told me to imagine myself in a meadow during contractions. She had no idea how close baby was. When they checked my dilation, they said nothing except a rushed “She’s +1. Get her in” or something along those lines.
There was no time for pain medication or epidural. My water broke on the table and I soon felt the incredible instinct to push. After maybe 4-5 rounds of pushing she was out! We were completely shocked.
Everyone’s crying ☺️
