My baby boy decided to make his appearance 11/18/17 πŸ˜€ I was 39+2 and for the previous 2 weeks had been 1 cm and about 70% thinned.

Well I woke up about 3 am with what I thought could be a contraction. Honestly, I felt gassy like I needed to go number 2. Well I was able to go back to sleep but continued having the pains on and off all morning. Maybe like 1-2 an hour. Well when I got up about 7 I was able to go #2 so I started to think the pains had indeed just been gas pains.

At 2 that afternoon, the pains were back and getting more regular so I told the hubby to start timing them. They were 7 minutes apart and lasting about 1 minute. I decided to take a shower and wash my hair just in case. The shower seemed to make them closer together but shortening duration.

After about another hour they were getting more painful. So the hubby loaded the car and we headed the 45 minutes to the hospital. On the drive there they increased to every 3 minutes, lasting a minute.

We got checked in and I was terrified I was being a big baby and they were going to say you're 2 cm, come back later. They checked me and I was already a 6😳

Once I got to a labor room they were coming about every 90 seconds and I just needed a break. They hurt like hell and I couldn't even catch my breath in between. I decided for the epidural. The Dr came in about 20 minutes later and I got it. It was heaven sent and really not painful at all compared to my contractions. The worst part was throwing up from the pain while having a contraction and getting the epidural.

Epidural in, they check and I'm at a 9! About 3 hours after getting there. I pushed for 40 minutes and my sweet baby boy was born. 6 pounds 3 ounces, 19.5 inches. So happy and so exhausted πŸ’›
