How many bottles do you need for babies?

Question

Hello mommies & daddies!
I'm thinking of starting buying baby essential stuff. My question is particularly on baby bottles. How many do I really need to buy for newborn that will last me until she's infant. We'll need to buy a bunch because we're moving to another country before I'm due so I want to be prepared.
Do I also need a transition bottles to cups? All suggestions are highly appreciated :D

Thank you guys for all your advice! You are all so helpful! It looks like I'm gonna buy just a couple for my baby to try out and when I knew what she liked, I'll probably buy nearly 6-10 bottles.

Don't invest in too many. Baby might not like that brand. I got 2 different brands and just bought more after I knew which she liked. I had 8 bottles after I knew which kind she liked.

I got a pack from target and it has 4big bottles and 4small bottles plus the bottle sterling thing. I haven’t used them yet because we have lost two babies so they are still in the box

I have 6 total. 3 of which I use the most as baby likes them best and that works great for us. now once he becomes mobile and can feed himself I'm sure bottles will get lost much easier so I'll have to stock up on a few more...

4 small 4 big, however we had to switch bottles because my daughter wouldn't drink out of the first kind we had.

I’m formula feeding and I have 9 playtex drop in bottles. It’s more than enough, but I like to make my bottles ahead of time and always like to have backups on hand. I started with 3 bottles to make sure he would like them, then I bought 6 more after he decided they were good enough for him lol.

We have 6 total. Three 4 oz bottles and three 9 oz. definitely don’t buy all at once. We started with Avent (10 of them) and they were nightmares. Leaked like crazy and gave our daughter horrible gas to the point where she’d ball her eyes out through every bottle. We’ve switched bottles twice since then.  So only buy one of each brand for now to see which one works best for you.

Personally I am getting about 12 ranging is sizes from 2 oz.-9 ozs. Two to three of each size but that's just me I prefer to have a little extra on hand
