Coming home outfit- what's the point?!

Someone please enlighten me!!!! Will our child be seen with this outfit on? Or do ppl keep them as keepsakes? Why are coming home outfits such a big thing? Aren't you just going home?

In my opinion, it's for two things- cutesy pictures, and the first memory of bringing your baby into his or her first ever home.
I don't know anyone who saved theirs, it seems to be just more of a modern tradition in the days of social media.

My mom framed all of me & my siblings in shadow boxes & they still hang on the wall at my dads house. My dad wants to frame her coming home outfit as a present so thats the only reason I’ll send her home in a dress.

We have a large family and my kids live to vote and pick out the outfit the new baby will come home in:) Plus they will all get their first pics holding baby when we get home so that makes it extra special.

I didn’t pick out anything too special, my baby boy is due December 27th so I just packed a warm newborn outfit. In my opinion anything to keep him cozy and keep him from getting sick or anything was the go to!

My baby will either be wearing a bag/gown or a fleece sleep n play...I don’t see the point in putting her in a special outfit just to ride in her car seat. It’s also going to be pretty cold so I want her to be warm enough. There will be plenty of other opportunities to play dress-up with her!

It's only a good idea if you are a celebrity and people are going to be judging your baby fashion. Who seriously cares?🤷🏻‍♀️As long as they are warm and cozy they don't have to be wearing any thing special.

I just picked an outfit from Nb and 0-3m. Both the cutest I got at my showers, but nothing too special about them.

Honestly I have like 5 different outfits for baby girl to wear packed in the diaper bag. don't have a specific coming home outfit.  I don't see the point to have a special outfit either.
