Hello all! I’ve read some articles lately that argue that the age we have our first period can predict our health in the long run. I’m curious to know how old girls usually are when they start, because these articles make reference to late teens a lot and I thought that was super late! I started the last day of 6th grade (11 years, 5 months old). Most of the articles and thesis submissions I have read state the younger you are the more prone you are to health issues such as obesity, diabetes and other auto immune disorders. I am 24 and average weight, but I have a really bad case of hypothyroidism I’ve been battling for years along with Celiac disease and IBS-C. Thought it would be interesting to see the different ages and medical issues!

**also probably should add that I’ve miscarried twice in 2 years and the doctors blame the thyroid disease
