Delivery stay question

Going to be going in for a planned csection. I get the date and info next week.

We have a 5 year old. I remember with my 5 yr old I was in the hospital I believe for 3 days. Hubby stayed those 3 days. Now with my older son I am uncertain what to do. Leaving him with his grandparents for 3 days seems unfair or extreme. I mean he will have school ( will have to wake up even earlier to get to school on time) , homework- he hates sleeping out. Never wants to sleep there as is. He’ll spend the day but always comes home. Do we leave him for 3 days ? Maybe just the first night? Do moms stay in the hospital alone? I cannot have my mother stay in the hospital with me. She will drive me nuts. It won’t be good. Some advice please. What have you done with older siblings ?
