meeting my love ❤️
I’ve been waiting what feels like forever to write my own birth story so here it goes...it is pretty long sorry 😭
I was set to be induced on Tuesday, Nov 14th at 37 weeks exactly due to having ICP. So I got a really bad cold like two days before, I was coughing and blowing my nose...it was a mess lol. By the time 5:30 pm rolled around on Tuesday, I was still blowing my nose and feeling a little out of it. I went to the hospital and got admitted. I waited for like an hour after to get cervidil due to the fact that they were full with laboring moms. Around 10 pm, they took out my cerclage and inserted my cervidil. My tv wasn’t working so they moved me across the hall to a bigger room around 1 am. My body started reacting and contracting around 3 am. They tried to check my cervix like around 8 am on the 15th but I had a yeast infection and I was really sensitive so they couldn’t get a good look. The contractions started getting horribly unbearable like around 8:30 am. My pain tolerance is like -50 on a 1-10 scale so I was a wreak lol. I was basically screaming for them to take out the cervidil by 10 am which was the 12 hour mark. So they took it out and tried to check again but I couldn’t handle it still so the doctor ordered an early epidural, thankfully. At this point I had lost track of time so I don’t know when the anesthesiologist showed up but he did and he was having an issue getting the epidural in because I have a slightly curved spine apparently and also I sucked at staying in the curled position but he got it in and then I couldn’t feel the contractions at all 🙌🏾. They did my exam which I could still feel but it wasn’t AS bad and I was only like three centimeters dilated so they gave me Pitocin. That went on for a little while and my mom left to go downstairs and change out her badge & like a couple of minutes after she left, my nurse came in with another nurse which caused me to be a little curious, then the doctor came in followed by two more nurses so at this point I knew something was wrong. One nurse who I knew from the many times I came to be monitored before told me my son’s heart rate was on the drop so of course I start freaking out. They start telling me to twist and turn to try to get him to start going back to normal but he wasn’t so the nurses and the doctors started going and getting the little scrub cap things on so I’m like “Holy shit” and I see my mom come back but everybody is flying and I hear the doctor tell them to call the anesthesiologist & have him meet us in the OR. So the nurse is like “ok we’re going back to have an emergency C” and I start crying and flipping out as we move back to the OR. So we get in there and everybody is flying around and I’m screaming at the nurse to make sure my son and I don’t die and the anesthesiologist gets frazzled and is literally like “nope we’re not doing this, she’s going to sleep” , mind you I have NEVER been under General before so I’m crying and telling my nurse how I don’t want to die and she’s trying to tell me to calm down & how she won’t let us die and then I started counting back and I went to sleep. When I woke up, I was in my room and my bff was standing next to me and I’m looking at her like please help me understand & she tells me my son is in the nursery and the nurse tells me every thing went okay. My bff shows me pics on my beautiful pumpkin and my mom and brother come in and tells me that he weighs 6lbs 12 oz & he looks just like me. Then they roll him in and they give him to me and he latches immediately 😭💖 he is perfect! So my amazing son was born Nov 15, 2017 at 5:48 pm and my life could not be more complete 💜 With my pregnancy being so hard and my delivery being wild, he makes me know that it was all worth it!
