Anybody here works at a car dealer??

Question

I make a year with my car in December (financed). My uncle told me that I should be able to take my car to the Honda dealer (they have the car that I want) and they should be able to replace the car for me without paying anything. 
Is this true? Is there a possibility that I would be paying something out of pocket?

Yeah that’s not how it works. You’ve had your car for a year and likely have 10000 miles on it. You’re definitely not going to walk out without paying anything.

So you want to trade it in? I doubt you would pay nothing. Your car value drops as soon as you drive it off the lot. So chances are they will tell you you owe more on your car, then it’s worth. You can trade it in, but you’ll have to pay.

Nope lol...that's NEVER how it works. You need at least a few thousand to cover the differences. 
They will they you the value of your car which and then you can't either sell it to them and then pay the differences for the new car you want OR keep your car, sell it in your own, or do whatever you want with it.

So I would have to put down a down payment like if I was getting a new car? I am reading mine in for the Honda Civic. I was thinking about putting down 2,500.

You can trade it in but the likelihood of you having to pay is great.
