spotting before period

Hi my period has just came today but I was spotting from Thursday just very lightly, only when I wiped. Normally I start cramping and then it comes within a few hours, this is my second period since mc in September and my first was completely normal. Has anyone else experienced this or can maybe give me an idea of what's going on? Could it be due to low progesterone? Thanks
