Pumping in middle of night?!

I'm currently having to pump after feeding LO or icant go back to sleep. Boobs so painful and full. Milk let down again right after feeding her. Omg so much milk everywhere and I just want to sleep!!! Pumping takes forever. Anyone else have this problem?

If you're already producing too much then pumping is going to make things worse. Breastfeeding is supply and demand so if you pump, you're telling your body to produce more.

Have you tried adjusting the speed/pressure when pumping so it removes more milk out on your machine? I found that it helps cut down the time I need to pump & able to fill a 5 oz bottle within about 5 minutes.

At night I still pump either every 2-4 hours depending on how much I pumped during the day.

I pump at eleven (because she usually sleeps most of the night) then go to bed and usually she wakes up once to feed between then and morning. I also HATE pumping it does take forever but your supply should adjust to your baby's schedule eventually.

I do want to use extra but I don't know why it is so painful during the night. I can go for a few hours during the day but the same few hours at night is torture. I actually have to wake baby up at night sometimes because there so much pressure

I have to wake up around 1-2am every night to pump. There is no way I can wait for baby to wake up (she's been sleeping through the night). If I did, my boobs would probably explode! Pumping for me doesn't seem to take very long...about 10-15 minutes to fill up the bottles. How long does it take you? Do you have a double breast pump?

Is it a problem or are you trying to have extra supply for the freezer?

If you have an oversupply then you shouldn't be pumping so much. Just pump or better hand express a little to relieve engorgment but don't empty the breast.
