Best Car Seat Strollers For Twins
Having twins is hard enough. Make it as easy as possible during the first year by getting a lightweight stroller frame whose sole purpose in life is to hold 2 babies in their car seats.
And that’s all.
Keep it simple in the early days so you aren’t overwhelmed.
Note that there are many other full-sized/all-terrain strollers that also take two infant seats at the same time, such as the City Select, the Britax B-Ready, Phil & Teds Navigator, Mountain Buggy Duet, Bugaboo Donkey, the Bumbleride Indie Twin, and others. While these all-terrain strollers ride a lot better, they are also MUCH bulkier and heavier (20 lbs vs. 35 lbs), which can be overwhelming for new twin moms, especially for those who have just had a C-section (right?).
Thus, most twin moms recommend keeping it simple with one of the best car seat strollers for twins. You can upgrade to your heavier-duty, more capable stroller later when you have a bit more gusto and a better understanding of what your needs truly are (usually around 9 months or so).
1. Joovy Twin Roo and Twin Roo Plus (new for 2015) ~ Editor’s Pick
$99 and $129, respectively 21.6 and 24 lbs (respectively)
In the infant twin stroller frame category, the Joovy Twin Roo and Twin Roo+ are clear favorites.
Cleverly designed to hold two infant car seats facing out to the side, Joovy was able to shorten the overall length of the stroller, which in turn allows for greater maneuverability.
New in 2015 is the Twin Roo+ (below), which allows both car seats to face the same direction (or opposite). This fixes one of the big complaints that parents had, which was that one baby was always in the sun with the seats facing opposite directions.
Joovy Twin Roo+
At 21.6 lbs, it’s a bit heavier than the Baby Trend Double Snap N Go (#2, below). However, the smaller footprint allows it to fit in the smallest of trunks.

Here’s what twin mommies say:
“It’s not terribly huge. I have a 2008 Altima Hybrid with a small trunk and it fits!”
“It’s incredibly easy to pop open and collapse down, it’s not too heavy, it fits easily in the trunk of my Ford Focus, and it rolls smoothly.”
The Joovy Twin Roo has a large under basket for storage. However, like all stroller frames this style, it may be difficult to access larger items with car seats in place.

And the Twin Roo (regular) is definitely NOT compatible with the Graco Click Connect car seat.

* Note that the Twin Roo+ is a good 3 lbs heavier (24 lbs) than the regular Twin Roo.
Said one mom, “It’s very easy to maneuver, light and not bulky at all.” Another added, “If I were a billionaire, I’d buy one of these for every mom who has twins. It’s that awesome.” Yet another mom added, “The cup holders are perfect because they hold 2 bottles of milk – one for each baby.”
Customer service for Joovy, a small, family-owned company, is top-notch, as noted by many reviewers. With its smaller footprint and compatibility with newer car seats (such as the Graco SnugRide Click Connect), the Joovy Twin Roo is Lucie’s List top pick for infant twins.
2. Baby Trend Double Snap N Go
MSRP: $99; on sale for $75 18 lbs
At a mere 18 lbs (3 lbs lighter than the Joovy Twin Roo), the Baby Trend Snap N Go Double is another go-to stroller frame for twins. Those who have used both prefer the Joovy Twin Roo due to the smaller footprint and ease of snapping in the car seats.
* For the new version of the Snap N Go (the “stadium seating” version), certain brands of car seats have to be “strapped in” to the Snap N Go rather than snapped in, which is an annoyance.
The Snap N Go stroller frame also gets a ding from me because it’s no longer easily compatible with the Chicco KeyFit, which is a very popular infant seat among twin moms. Furthermore, it’s not *technically* compatible with the Graco SnugRide Click Connect car seats, although many report that you can still “strap” them in (rather than “snap”).
Thus, if you already have Chicco KeyFits, Britax B-Safes, or Graco SnugRide Click Connects for your twinsies (which covers about 80% of the population, snort), I highly recommend you go with the Joovy Twin Roo or Roo+. Word?
Snap N Go Double with Graco seats
Nonetheless, owners of this stroller frame generally like it. It‘s lightweight (the lightest of the twin frames, in fact) and easy to fold. The Snap N Go also has two cup holders and a large storage basket, although it too can be hard to access once the car seats are in place.
Note that certain infant seats work better than others! While it’s technically compatible with the Chicco KeyFit, you must strap in (vs. snap in), so I’d recommend using Graco SnugRide Classic Connect (or another seat on this list) instead.
“Works okay with Chicco car seats, but they don’t snap in place but are held down with a belt.”
“Used this with 2 Graco SnugRide 35 car seats for over a year with my twins and it worked great.”
This stroller is small compared to other doubles, but will still take up the entire trunk of a smaller car.
“The frame is very light and fits easily into the trunk of our Camry Hybrid.”
“Fits well in my Chevy Aveo hatchback.”
The Snap N Go Double is a perfectly fine solution that’s been around for years and can often be found secondhand, but good luck getting any customer service from Baby Trend — it’s near impossible.
