Does breast feeding hurt that freaking bad?
When I got off birth control, my boobs threw a major ass fit.
I seriously thought something was very, very wrong. They hurt so bad that I cried and couldn't put my arms above my head. The pain radiated into my armpits.
Because I couldn't raise my arms up, my so had to help me take my bra and shirt off. When he did that, he told me the side of my boobs were red. I had red streaks and fever going from the sides of my breasts into my armpits. I was also leaking clear discharge from my nipples.
Keep in mind that I have never had baby so of course I've never lactated or breast fed. I went to the doctor and had it checked out and they said it was just my hormones being insane on top of the fact that i probably had clogged ducts that had got infected due to having discharge come out. I was given antibiotics and the pain and all other symptoms went away. I was explaining this to a coworker because we were talking about birth control and one said "god help you when you have a baby and lactate and breast feed"
Okay? Like I don't understand what that means. I know that when you breast feed you can get infected clogged ducts and I already know that shit is PAINFUL AS ALL HELL. But I dont know if your milk coming in is just as painful? She made it seem like I wouldn't be able to handle breast feeding just because I was talking about how painful this was. It was very condescending. I plan to breast feed and i felt shot down.
