I didn’t know I was in labor
My boyfriend works night shifts and doesn’t get home until 4am. So it was Friday morning on November 3rd and at 330am I woke up feeling really sick and nauseous and the feeling went away and around 5am I was having cramps kind of close together but I didn’t think anything of it since I had been cramping for a couple weeks on and off and I’m a first time mom. So I fell asleep and woke up at 745am and I was cramping again on and off every 4-5 and 6-7 minutes. I kept telling my sisters when I would cramp and keeping track with them. I let my boyfriend sleep longer and my sisters kept telling me to go to the hospital because I told them I had a pressure in my tailbone. And so I just started finishing our hospital bag. My boyfriend opened his eyes to me sitting on the bed and I told him I’ve been cramping on and off for over an hour so he gets ready and we grab all of the stuff for the hospital and get there at 1030am. They check me and i’m already 5cm dilated. And so they had us walk around for an hour and told us to come back to our room to be checked again. I was having the worst back/tail bone pain and walking definitely eased it some. So we get back to the room and she checks me and I’m already 7cm dilated and when she checked me she accidentally broke my water. And they admitted me and we finally went to a labor room. I wanted an epidural so bad and so they got my IV started and I did not want to sit down because of the pain. It was unbearable. I finally got the epidural maybe a half hour later and felt no contractions up until i was 9cm. The epidural stopped working on my left side and I had the worst pain for the whole 2 hours I was pushing in my tailbone (worst back labor ever). I knew every time I needed to push because the pain back there would intensify with every contraction. And finally when my baby girl came out all the pain went away. I had a baby girl Winter born at 8:56pm weighing 7lbs and 4oz and 20 inches long. All the pain was definitely worth it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
