Amoxicillin safe?

I’m 18 weeks and went to urgent care in order to not wait a week to see my pcp. The PA said it’s viral but also beginning of sinus infection and to fill a script for amoxicillin? Is that even safe? I’ve only ever been given a Zpack for sinus infection (pre-pregnancy) so I’m not sure if it’s really ok especially since I’m on macrobid for 7 days for a uti (smh I’m so messed up this pregnancy🤦🏽‍♀️)

It’s safe in pregnancy, if you’re beginning to get a bacterial infection it’s better to get rid of it early on.

*Just to update everyone...I did tell my OB and they said it was fine but when I picked it up from the pharmacy the pharmacist was very unsettled when she saw that I was pregnant and getting that medication. She asked me a thousand questions about my OB and if I was absolutely certain that my OB said it is fine and absolutely necessary. The urgent care doc prescribed it not my OB. I myself was unsure of it and so paranoid of being in two diff antibiotics that I had decided to try an over the counter med so I’m on sudanés which seems to be causing some breaking of the mucus that won’t seem to leave my chest. Amoxicillin is safe during pregnancy.  I'm a nurse.

Did you ask the doctor that prescribed it? Do they know your pregnant? I would fill it and call your obgyn to make sure especially if you’ve had prior complications or you just gotta thug it out and use a netti pot.
