So I got out of this abusive relationship about four weeks ago and now I’m happy to say I’m dating my best friend he is so respectful and everything I love his personality and the way he treats me but all of my friends say he’s ugly and it makes me feel bad first tell me what you think of him then tell me what I should do please!!!

Who’s dating him? You or your friends? And to be honest. It shouldn’t matter how they see him. What matters is how YOU see him. And are you sure they’re actually your friends? Because if they were they shouldn’t care because you’re happy and finally being respected and cared for. They’re just being kids.

if he treats you well stay together and tell your friends to shove it. having a piece of meat to look at isnt going to make you happy in a relationship... My husbands friends actually said similar things about me. like saying he can do better, what is he doing with this ugly girl etc. He never cared about their thoughts on the matter. they had so many problems with me and they didn't even know me. I was a foreigner, and a few years older than him, he was "too young" to be married. honestly, i think the girls who spoke to him like this just had a crush but were too scared to say anything. one of his classmates from uni had asked him out a month or two before we were together and he just wasnt interested. but when we got together she got jealous as hell. as for male friends they just wanted to sabotage his happiness so they can feel better about themselves. it is like some competition to them who can reach lifes milestones first. so yeah dont let your friends influence your relationship choices or you will lose the best thing you ever had. my husband still says hes glad he did not listen because i was the best thing that ever happened to him.
