Was I in the wrong?

So! I'm leaving it up to glow! My mom thinks I'm right for what I did, while my dad does not! What's your thoughts:

*Back story*

I work in a veterinary hospital. Today, we needed some things at Costco, like stamps and baby wipes. Because my schedule was pretty clear, and I was already running to the bank, I offered to go. My boss, let's say her name is "Sarah"- handed me her credit card, and also asked me to pickup a pecan pie for her thanksgiving meal tomorrow. I grabbed the card and off I went!

~this is where I say I made my error- she handed me a red card (the same color as our hospital credit card, and her debit card). I did NOT double check the card, assuming she handed me the correct one~

I went to Costco, got the items and returned to work. I grabbed her card out of my pocket, and realized I made all the purchases, including her 20 dollar pie, on the corporate company card. I immediately thought I was in the wrong, and offered to go back to the store and pay for her pie with her card. "Sarah" told me, that no, it was ok. She can use the card for personal use, and they company will deduct it from her paycheck. She also said I can't use her debit card at Costco because the name doesn't match on my membership card (??? Never heard of this- I mean my name isn't on the company card, her name is, and I've used that there before) and she didn't have any cash to reimburse me.

A couple hours later, I was thinking about it, and it started to sound really fishy to me. So, I went to our medical director (our big boss) and asked if this was truly the case. He said he wasn't sure, and he would find out. He asked if I regularly make purchases for the office on the company card, and let him know that normally "Sarah" does, because she's "always out and about (her words)" so I'm not sure if she's used the card before for personal use. I asked him to please keep our conversation in confidence because we're a very small clinic.

That evening, because it was dark and they were off early, they walked out to leave together. Not even 10 minutes later, she sends me this text, saying "Ill show u how to do the credit card detail. I never use it for personal, but you can. All reciepts get sent to corporate for review. If something makes you u comfortable or question, just tell me. Dr. D let me know 😊"

Maybe I'm just emotional because I'm pregnant, but I'm so frustrated and upset because now I look like a tattle tale!

Was I in the wrong for going to my other boss?!?

My mom thinks I did the right thing! While my dad says "I got what I deserved because I wasn't careful enough, and stuck my nose in someone else's business". Thoughts?!?

I have NEVER heard of it being ok to use a company card for personal use!!
