My baby looks white? (by no means do i mean any harm)

Is it normal for my baby to have white skin, she’s very light. Her dad is dark skinned and I’m light skinned. She has dark blue eyes (which i know will turn brown) and her skin is very light..she’s a week old and her color hasn’t changed still. She has no color???

If you are light skinned, then it's not impossible you'll have a light skinned child. Even though people with darker traits have the dominant genes, it doesn't mean that only dominant genes get passed on. My friend is Asian, her husband is white. They have a boy that looks just like his mom and a boy that looks just like his dad. You'd never know they were brothers just by looking at them.

The reason the eyes and skin are like lighter is because it takes longer for darker pigmentation to develop so just give it time!

I am white, and my husband is Hispanic(pretty dark skinned) but our son came out very light skinned like me. He also has light brown hair and blue eyes. So, he looks nothing like I would have expected. It just shows that genetics are unpredictable. My son has gotten darker over time, but he still outwardly presents as white. Only time will tell really...

My niece is also very fair skinned with BLUE eyes (bright blue to boot!).  Mommy is light skinned with brown hair and green eyes.  Daddy (my bil) is African-American, medium dark (some family members are pretty fair while others are very dark), with brown eyes.
 
It all depends.  She did not really begin to darken until she was in the sun more as a toddler.
 
My son is also fairly light skinned and dark blue (almost brown) eyes.  He is also mixed (I am fair skinned, brown hair, grey blue eyes, Daddy is Asian, not super dark skinned though, with brown eyes and black hair).  My son also has my lighter color hair, hahaha.

It’s very very very common for black heritage babies to be born lighter and then darken up.  Not necessarily a TON (like a light baby won’t become a jet black adult)- but noticeably.

My partner is darker skinned than me and our sons is a very light olive colour.
His eyes were also black when he was born but lightened up to a nice chocolate brown.
