How soon do you tell close family you're pregnant after a loss?

We are nervous to tell them and get their hopes up again to let it down. At the same time, it would be nice to have their support right now.

I told both of our parents immediately because I knew I would need the support if I miscarried again. I wouldn't be able to hide my grief so I figure it's just as good for them to celebrate with us and then grieve if necessary rather than having them find out we lost a baby and only have the sadness.

I told my parents & DHs parents after our 2nd US at 8 weeks (we were 9w by the time we told though).  My mom knew about my MCs, DHs mom didn't.  I swore then both to secrecy, though - still not ready for the world to know.  I think you should do what makes you comfortable.

We didn't want our families to worry on our behalf, so we held off til after the first ultrasound. We would've told them either way at that point, but thankfully it was good news!

They is no universal right time, it's what's right for you. I'm so amazed I'm pregnant again I told my best friend, my boss (super close to her), and my parents. That's all we're telling right now, until after the first ultrasound in June.

We told my parents and my dad's parents. They're who I'm closest with. Also told our few closest friends that we know will keep quiet. The rest were probably going to wait until 13 weeks.

I'm 16 weeks and I still haven't told them. I'm so nervous because I lost the first one at 14 weeks. I will probably be a terrible person and tell them after the baby is born lol

I told family and friends when I found out. I've had 2 mc and with my 1st one I was going through some angry emotions towards my husband. It really helped having people know what was going on that could talk some sense into me. Besides your hopes and emotions are going to be destroyed the most. My friends call and check up on me now to make sure everything is going OK and have been a great support system. Besides that baby is still a life. Celebrate it.

I was so distraught after mine that I couldn't imagine putting my family through it. So this time I waited til 14 weeks and I had gone to the dr that morning for a heartbeat appt and it was 155!

Depends when your first ultrasound would be. If your clinic does early ultrasounds, I vote that you wait until after that, otherwise tell them soon. If you get to have an early ultrasound, and everything looks good at that point, then you have a picture to surprise them with!
