At 38w1d my water broke at 3am I immediately woke my husband up and we got everything ready to go to the hospital (we even cleaned the house because who wants to clean the house right after coming home from the hospital) we got to the hospital at 5am and I was 1 1/2 centimeters dilated but I was told I was not a candidate to walk around because his head was too high up and they said the umbilical cord could potentially come out by 10am I hadn't made any progress so they started me on pitocin I got to a level 6 pitocin before I decided to get an epidural the contractions were hitting me back to back and I was only at 3 centimeters well they checked me 3 hours later and I had progressed to 10 centimeters we waited another 2 hours so his head could come farther down and we started doing practice pushes within 2 pushes the nurse said that she could already see his head and called the doctor in 40 minutes later Emmett Douglas Fehlinger was born at 3:56 pm 5 pounds 13 ounces and 18 3/4 inches long
