How would you respond?
My twins are now 4 months old, and today we went to the park with a singleton-mom friend who was in my birthing class. It was the first time we had met since the births. It was all fun, but something irked me:
Twice, she lovingly glanced over at her husband and smiled while saying, "I'm so glad ours wasn't twins!☺️✨." As if she felt lucky to have escaped twins. My babies weren't being bad or crying...she just literally said it out of nowhere.
I didn't know what to say, but I felt rather slighted, so I said that I'm glad I had twins because 1 baby seems boring. I could tell that hit a tiny nerve with her as she responded that she wasn't bored.
Anyway, how have you/would respond to "I'm glad I didn't have twins."
Thank you..
Edited to add: no she did not say it as a kudos to me. She said it as if she were lucky and relieved not to have had twins.
Maybe she's a little jealous? I have no idea.
