Flying???

Question

We will be flying out west to visit my in-laws for an early Christmas celebration. We plan to spill the beans then! 
I'm nervous about flying! Is it okay to fly this early into a pregnancy? (I'll be 8 weeks)
What about security? Is it harmful to the baby??

I’m currently 4 wks. My husband planned a trip to Hawaii for my 30th this Year. We would be traveling around week 6. I have told the doctor but my fertility doctor wants me to run it by my normal ob. I’m on blood thinners daily for my pregnancy so I’m at a slightly higher risk.

I just got back from a trip to NYC. I was 6 weeks when I was flying. 6 hour flight each way. I had an ultrasound when I came back and my baby was perfect. 💕💙
All of the TSA equipment is perfectly safe for pregnant women as well! 
The only issue I had was increased nausea on the flight itself. Enjoy your trip!

I just came back from Disney world and we flew. I normally am just fine but I was so nauseous.

You’ll be absolutely fine. I found out I was pregnant 2 days before a 14 hour flight. Within the next 3 weeks we took 8 more flights. There are no issues to the Baby at all

Wear compression tights, drink lots of fluid and if it’s a longer flight make sure to get up and walk a bit. For the tsa stuff here is a link for information regarding the machines they use. I have gone through the regular metal detector but have opted out of the full body scanner. That is the tube like scanner where you hold your hands up and the device rotates. You can opt out of the full body scanner for medical reasons. Then you will get a pat down. It takes longer but I prefer it for peace of mind.
