So on Tuesday, I had my 1 hour glucose test & from the title I clearly failed it 🙄 lol she said it may be because I was drinking water when I went in, but I mean it's just water. But I guess don't eat anything, don't drink anything is exactly what they meant. It was an 89 prior to the drink (which wasn't that bad at all) and after the drink it was a 150 😑 it doesn't suppose to go over 130. My doctor told me to be ready to be there for 4 hours, so I was prepared for 4 maybe 5 hours. Boy was I wrong! Fast forward to the next day, which they recommended I did because I was turning 28 weeks on Friday which is today (YIPPEEE 💃🏽) and they wanted me to get it out the way. I went to the diagnostic center around 9 a.m. & I DID NOT LEAVE UNTIL 4:15 P.M. 😩 OH MY GAWDDDD, I seriously don't know how a possible 4 maybe even 5 hour appt. turns into 7+ freaking hours WITHOUT ANYTHING TO EAT OR DRINK BESIDES THE SUGARY GLUCOSE DRINK SINCE 8 o'clock the previous night because you don't suppose to eat or drink after 12. They took my blood probably round 11:30, started the drink round 12:20 & the rest is history. I started to feel warm inside, weak, light headed & just plain frustrated around 3 o'clock. It felt like I was on the verge of passing out. I tried to hold back the tears of being in a waiting room while others are coming & going & pretty much spending a whole work shift there without anything on my stomach for me or my baby. It was the worse & sadly & thankfully I wasn't alone. Another girl had been there since 8 & didn't leave until 2:30. The lady let me leave cause I told her how I was feeling & I don't think I was completely done yet cause she was waiting on my lab results to make sure my sugar wasn't too low to leave, which I clearly physically felt like it was but I didn't care I JUST WANTED TO GO HOME & EAT before I pass out. I finally got home & just started crying from being so weak 😔 My mom & bf was so angry! My mom wanted to call up there & share some not so nice words & my bf wanted to come there & prolly have security called on him. I'm sure this is not normal nor healthy or safe for a pregnant woman to go almost 24 hours without any food. & I'm also sure this is not how a medical center normally operates. I will be doing a complaint & my doctor will sure be hearing about this. N
