I went through my first pregnancy alone even though I was technically married.
My husband is in the Navy and we are separated. 
It was difficult... and frustrating but I got through it. 
Didn’t care for what people thought of me. I did what I had to do which made me a strong woman. 
Till this day we are separated but I have moved on. I sacrificed a lot for my son and bust my ass to accomplish what I needed to get done. 
It is difficult but empowering when you realize the amount of strength you have to tackle most of the bs by yourself. 
I kind of love the independence when it comes to my son.

I’m currently separated from my partner for work. I’m hoping to move back home in a few months after telling my boss, but it looks like a good 6 months is going to be alone, without friends, family, or him. He’s extremely supportive from 7 hours away, but when you’re so exhausted that you can’t do laundry or take the trash out or make your own food (because you’ll get sick), it gets really really hard. 😔

My mom was a single mother to twins (I’m an identical twin). I could not have asked for a better mom or childhood. She is such an inspiration and a huge motivator for me. I know you can’t change the past, but in my case it don’t think our lives would’ve been better if our dad were in the picture. 
I met my dad when I was 16 and asked him where he was. His response was, “It was better for me not to have been there at all, then to be there just a little bit.” I can see his point, and it didn’t make it any easier to have a relationship with him. But we’ve managed to have an adult relationship since. Both he and my mom walked me down the isle at my wedding.

I’m doing it alone too. The father seemed super invested until I️ actually got pregnant. Now he isn’t interested. I️ have two other boys from previous marriages. Now I’m that single mom with three “baby daddies”. Gotta love that social stigma. I️ also live in Northern Alaska where the temps are subzero a good part of the year.
