when do I change the nipple from 1 to 2? (dr. browns)

How many weeks/months should LO be when I change the nipple from 1 to 2?

We don't switch at a certain age, we followed her cues.  It was taking forever for her to finish a bottle and she would get frustrated and just start playing with the nipple.

My LO has been in  size 2 with de brown since he was about 6 weeks old. Like everyone is saying watch for clues from your LO!!!

Honestly you can’t go by a certain age. I was worried because my son was 6 months old and still using size 1 nipples but he just couldn’t keep up with the size 2 and so I left him on the 1s. He recently had a little cold and was stuffy though and was being fussy when eating I decided to try a size 2 nipple and he did so much better with it. I’m guessing since he was so congested it took a lot out of him to suck harder. He’s still 6 months old but since then he’s been using the size 2 nipples now. You just have to wait until they are ready. Signs are fussy when eating like they can get the milk out fast enough, and if they are sucking so hard they are inverting the nipple.
