So I just started talking to this guy and verrrrrry attracted to him and hes sweet to me and all that. Hes 33 and I’m 22 and I just found out he has an ex wife and two kids. Do you think the age gap and the fact that he has an ex wife and two kids is bad? Maybe I should be with someone I can start a life with? Ugh idk

It’s not for everyone but it’s also not “bad”. I was 17 and became a step mom, my ex’s son was calling me mom. We aren’t together anymore but it was a great experience, I love his boy so much. I still get to see him as well. Sure there is baggage that comes with that but every relationship does.

The few comments on this already piss me off. My husband is 35, I am 25. He had an ex wife who he was with for almost 11 years, 2 kids. Our son is 13 and our daughter is 9. Notice how I say OUR. I will say it has not been the easiest. My husband and I have gone through hell and back together multiple times. Everytime we come out stronger. There has been issues with the ex wife consistently for the past 4 years. There has been issues with the children. There has been issues with his family. But when my husband and I got together, there was no doubt about it how much I cared for this man. There was no doubt about it how much I would care for his kids as if they are his own. You would not be a step mom, you would be a bonus mom. My husband and I got together when I was 21...you're not too young, if it's something that you are okay with and want to Do! Again, it has not been easy. But I would not change anything about my life with my wonderful family. Just because he already has 2 kids does not mean you can't start a life or family together. Our baby boy is due in 9 weeks and his big brother and big sister are extremely excited for a new sibling.

You’re adults 🤷‍♂️ he’s not with his wife anymore. I’d say to maybe just make sure you’re both on the same page with what you want and are prepared for though. Him having an ex wife and kids might suggest he’ll be keen to settle down and if you don’t feel ready for that, it’s something to keep in mind, it also means that if you do stay with him you’ll most likely be involved with his kids, you have to make sure you can do that too. The biggest thing about age differences I think is just making sure that being at two different stages of your lives isn’t going to cause major problems, and it might, you just have to be prepared for that.

If you like him and you are both single and looking for a relationship I say go for it. You don't have to rush into anything or "play step Mommy" just because you are dating. Now if it gets serious and you two end up getting married or moving in with each other than of course you would end up being apart of the kids life if Dad has custody/ or part custody. I'm 24 with a 4 year old and 6 month old and my SIL is 25 with a 12 year old step daughter, a 5 year old of her own and then they have a 3 year old and 6 month old together and she loves it. I wouldn't let that scare you..

It's not bad at all, u can still start a life with the person if they have kids and an ex-wife.. u just have to decide If it's something u can live with, weigh your pros and cons.
