trying to conceive

okay so 4 days ago i was spotting light pink blood/discharge ive never done thst before took a test same day negative.. my period was supposed to come on friday i have been having symptoms this whole week especially bad headaches so today i spotted again this time light red so i put on a pad after a hour i checked the pad it had no blood just discharge? im very confused.
