Norimin 1 breakthrough bleeding

My dr recently changed the pill I was on believing that it would help me be able to skip my periods. I was previously on the generic brand of levelan and am now on Norimin 1. But about 2 weeks before my period was due on Norimin I had breakthrough bleeding that has continued (for about a week so far). I'm due to have my placebo week in 6 days and am having period cramps and this dark brown lumpy spotting. Just wondering if this is common and should I just go back to levlan. How long will it take to regulate my periods again with no breakthrough bleeding?
