Experiences of being induced?

Question

Wanting to hear stories from people who were induced early around 36-37.5 weeks. Wanting to hear about the pain etc from those who did not get an epidural. It may be an option for me to be induced yet, find out more in a week. Just hoping to hear experiences so I can make my mind up.

Did you go into labour naturally and they started things when it wasn’t progressing? Or was your labour started by the inducing drugs?

My water broke naturally at 35 weeks but after 18 hours they were worried about infection so they started a very low pitocin drip. The pain was horrendous and I had to get the epidural. Unfortunately I got it too late because I progressed from 1-10 in 45 mins and they didn't believe she was coming and I had to beg them to check. I felt everything and she came sooooo hard and fast. I had a third degree tear even tho she was only 5 lbs 4 oz.

I was induced and didn’t get the epidural. It was incredibly painful but I was in labor for 72 hours. I got pitocin and the foley balloon through the cervix, however after all that time I was still only at 7 cm, I got the epidural and my daughter was born 2 hours later. I think my body just was so exhausted and worn out that labor wasn’t progressing. Once I got the epidural everything was amazing and I got to take a quick nap!
