Any phlebotomist’s on here?

I am considering this career path. I’ve always had an interest in medical related stuff, and phlebotomy really sparked my interest. I have a few questions for those who are a Phlebotomist. I’m just trying to get a better idea, because google hasn’t helped any, lol.
How long have you been a phlebotomist?
How much do you make a year?
Do you truly enjoy it?

I'm a nurse, not a phlebotomist but in California they make around 17-19 to start on average, the classes take 1-3 months depending on the school and cost about $1200+. I personally don't like dealing with blood too much but as long as you're careful handling & properly disposing needles and tainted equipment then it'll be a breeze for you. I have a friend who after 5 years experience, he goes to people's houses just to collect blood & makes $50 per visit. He visits 8 houses a day. So that's great money with his experience. 
The cons are: no room for advancement, can be competitive depending on location & lack of respect in terms of "superiority" in a complex medical world (nurses swear they rule up & down)

I’m a phlebotomist, I’m in Wisconsin and I’ve been in the medical field for about 10 years doing various things. I currently make 17.50$, which is on the higher end for my area. I got hired with no experience besides the military and made 13.00 to start. It’s a good job, challenging at times like anything else. I like it myself. As a new phleb you’ll probably end up on hospital floors on odd shifts, but if you stick it out you can end up in a clinic like me, with better hours and no weekends/holidays.

I have been a phlebotomist for about a year now. I love it! The hardest part is finding a job that will take you as a new graduate. A lot of plasma centers will hire you without experience. I make $34,000 a year. I enjoy it a lot.

I'm a medical laboratory technician at a smaller clinic and I do phlebotomy as part of my job. That's always an option if you want more job opportunities or advancement options, plus the money is better.
