if A has sex with B, and B has chlamydia but they used a condom, is A safe from the chlamydia?
*A knows B might have chlamydia.

just a question. chlamydia is curable so why not tell B to go get checked and take the meds to get rid of it before having sex?  I mean sure the condom will protect them unless it busts but still.

Condoms are a protective measure and do decrease the risk. But there is still a chance of getting an STI even with a condom.

If the condom is put on correctly and worn correctly it is 98% effective protecting against pregnancy and STDs. If it isn’t worn or put on correctly then it lowers the effectiveness to about 85%. The risk of getting an STD even with a condom is low. However that’s why doctors recommend getting annual check ups for STDs and getting annual paps, just to be safe.
