Is it worth it to get tested again...?

So when I first got diagnosed I felt some pain while urinating.. more like a pressure per say. So i got a mirror looked down there and I didn't see anything so I thought it'll just work it's way out but after another day I went to the doctor that's when she told me it was herpes.. I told the doctor that I didn't see any outbreak or anything she said that she can see it but it wasn't very visible. I broke down in the hospital. She did some blood work and told me she would know for sure in a few days... that's when she called me and told me that I had it. I never felt such a pain in my life. I didn't eat/sleep for about a month and lost 25 pounds.. But the day after that I left the hospital to wait for the results the pain totally went away.. is there a way that tests can be wrong?? I was diagnosed 13 months ago and haven't had any outbreak or anything close to it.
