Annual exam while on your period??

Anyone ever had their exam while AF was present? I'm feeling a little bad about the timing...

Call your doctor and ask them. Some are ok with it then depending on the flow and some are like we will reschedual so call your doctors office and ask them

Blood can also interfere with std testing, not just the pap! Most paps are looking at other cells, not the red cells. But the red cells may be too much if theyre crazy. Most ob/gyn have to do a "cleaning swab" before they use the pap brush, but still. Call and ask, probably reschedule

It is best to have your pap at least a week post menses due to the fact red cells can inhibit visuals of other cells.

Normally Drs won't do it during AF because the cervix changes. My Dr likes to schedule it a week after AF ends so she can see it during normal cycle days.

I would just reschedule. One reason is if you use tampons you can't have anything inside you for 48 hours before. I always schedule around my period.

I did last year, I called and they told me to come in anyway. I have a pretty light flow, so it wasn't a huge mess or anything.
