Can you say I love you even when you’re mad?

Question

When you and your SO are arguing and they puss you off but they have to get off the phone or leave. Do you still say “I love you, bye”? I get so angry sometimes that in that moment I don’t love them and I don’t want to say it. I’m too pissed off to say it. He says you should say it because you never know what could happen and at least you heard the last I love you. Idk I’m just so angry that I can’t even though I know he’s right.

If I'm angry I'll say something like "you're a Dickhead and annoying me right now but I love you". Paranoid me always gets worried if I don't say it he won't make it home and it'll be a massive regret.

I’m a firm believer in always saying it. Even if my boyfriend and I️ are arguing and the thought of saying it makes me cringe because I’m so mad in the moment, I️ tell myself you never know if it’s the last time you get to say it, like you mentioned.

I always try to tell my husband I love you before we hang up. AND we never go to bed mad at each other. That's helped us out a lot. Because right before we go to bed, when we've settled everything and say good night, I realize the argument we had wasn't even worth all the trouble it caused or could have caused. YES. I used to be prideful and refused to say it but one day I sat there and looked at him and thought what if I didn't tell him I loved him because I was too concerned with being prideful and mean? I tested up and realized I had to stop being prideful, I knew if I refused to say it and something happened to him I'd never forgive myself. Even thinking about it now makes me tear up.

My husband and I say that we always love each other, that’s not going away. But, in those moments when we are mad/upset/frustrated we just don’t like each other. It would take a lot for me to stop loving him, even when I’m furious I love him. So we often say, “I love you  and I like you,” it somehow means more to say it that way.

always always always. just cause you're mad at someone doesn't mean all love is gone. it may feel that way, but it's not. he was right, you never know if anything could happen to them so tell them everytime you can.
